生物谷报道:当心脏病发作或中风后,医师希望可以让新血管快速地形成以加速伤口的愈合。有一种实验性药物可以动员患者的血管新生细胞,帮助患者的血管快速生成。
华盛顿大学医学院的研究人员经过多年研究证实了一种称为AMD3100的药物可以在几小时而非几天的时间内,从骨髓动员患者的血管新生细胞,AMD3100的作用类似于G-CSF。它的作用机理是作为CXCR4的抑制剂发挥作用的。
血管新生细胞主要位于骨髓中,当动员时可以经由血液循环来到受损的组织,并帮助修补和重新生长可将氧气和营养物质带给受损组织的血管。
G-CSF也可以将这些有利的细胞,从骨髓带入血液中,但是一直要等到第四天,血管新生细胞才会进入血液中。在二项G-SCF的临床试验中,都发现这种治疗方式无法改进心脏病发作的心肌补救效果。
在本篇发表于Blood的文章中,研究人员表示,AMD3100可以在四个小时内,就能让血液中某些血管新生细胞的数量增加10到20倍,因此,这将是治疗心脏病发作或中风更有效的药物。
